31st Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival
The North Carolina Seafood Festival, celebrating its 31st year in 2017, will take place on October 6-8, 2017 on the Morehead City Waterfront. The largest three-day festival in North Carolina, its highlights are an endless variety of seafood prepared in a multitude of ways, street dances, concerts, arts and crafts (about 200 vendors), Flounder Fling and an International Award Winning Chef's Tent, Southern Outer Banks Boat Show, educational exhibits, hands-on programs for kids and rides and games. Saturday night fireworks are enjoyed by festival goers and neighbors alike. The festivities are spread from the North Carolina State Port to 11th Street on the beautiful Morehead City Waterfront. Free parking is available at the port on Saturday and Sunday with shuttles transporting festival-goers to the fun. Admission is always free, but bring cash for all the extras that will tempt your wallet!

7th Annual NC Troopers Association Saltwater Challenge
A non-profit fishing tournament donating to the North Carolina Troopers Association. In addition to the SKA Sanctioned Division 1 Kingfish Tournament there will be the following tournament fun: Captain's Choice Trout and Flounder Tournament, Prize for biggest Lizard Fish, TWT for King, Trout and Flounder, Ladies King TWT, 2 Fish Aggregate - Reel Bad Boyz TWT.

Local historian Rodney Kemp returns with his popular lunch-time history program at the History Museum of Carteret County, 1008 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC. This well-received mainstay includes local history and Rodney’s down-home, personal observations along with audience participation and comments. Included in this run of events are author interviews and some of Rodney’s own interpretive topics.
Admission for each presentation with lunch is $15 per person or $13 for society members. Lunch is served 11:30. To attend the program only admission is $8.50 and $5.50 for society members. The program starts at noon. Please call 252-247-7533 ext 1 to make your reservations.
